The responsibilities of the Substation Primary/Earthing Design Engineer would be:

  • Working as part of a team to provide HV/EHV substation primary detailed designs to clients in the power generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial HV sectors.
  • Actively participate and lead business development for Power Transmission clients
  • Projects completion on schedule and on budget.
  • Responsible for implementing Jacobs QA procedures and Client QA requirements
  • Monitoring and reporting of project progress, risks and issues
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Active participation as a team member and/or technical lead on all projects
  • Provision of support/coaching/mentoring to other staff as appropriate
  • Coordination and co-operation with other team members to achieve team objectives
Requirement : 

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent accredited degree
  • At least 5+ years relevant experience primary systems design preferably in EHV transmission, distribution or heavy industrial electrical engineering
  • Experience in the use of CDEGS
  • Experience in the use of PSCAD is preferred
  • Understanding of Australian and Victorian T&D utility would be an added advantage.
